Container rain – hot, humid air can damage your shipment
Moisture and humidity are the greatest enemies of goods transported by sea. Big changes in temperature are the main cause of container rain. If you want to save on your costs by not providing protection against moisture, you will only increase your costs due to damage caused during transport.

Where the humidity is above 50%, it’s almost certain that mold and rust will appear. Bentonite is an economical, 100% environmentally friendly vapor binding material that can be used in the transport of food and medicines.

The 2020 Incoterms contains 11 clauses, which can be divided into two categories: guidelines for all modes of transport and rules for only sea and inland waterway transport.
Guidelines for load securing during transport
The cargo should not move or slip during shocks and jolts! Proper cargo securing prevents personal injury and keeps the goods safe. To ensure this, there are special tools available, such as practical load bars and special dunnage.
An important step which you can’t leave out as an exporter: inspecting the loading of containers
Don’t take chances – the loading of containers should be supervised at all times! This includes quantitative and qualitative checks and examination of the state of the packaging, containers and vehicles.

Maritime transport is already an environmentally friendly form of transport in itself. However, there are conscious steps that can further reduce the company’s carbon footprint. For example, the increase in capacity utilisation and using consolidated containers (LCL).
